My problem is that I have a airbag light (B1650 code) the problem comes from the passenger occupant sensor.

When I bought the car the passenger seat didn't had the occupant sensor in the passenger seat (previous owner removed it to install it on aftermarket seats, before sending the car to the auction he installed the stock seat back in the car). So I went to a salvage yard and removed the occupant sensor and module from a 2015 BRZ and installed it on my passenger seat.

My problem is that I still get the airbag light. The only time the airbag light shuts off is when either the passenger belt is buckled or if I sit in the passenger seat. As soon as I leave the passenger seat the light comes back ON. Funny thing is that when I sit in the passenger seat the airbage display (near the hazard switch) doesn't turn to ON.

I always disconnected the battery before plugging or unplugging any airbag related sensors.

When I installed the occupant sensor in the passenger seat I did not installed the seat heater mat, could that mess with the occupant sensor?

Do I need to do any kind of recalibration of the sensor in order to fix the problem?

Any help or inputs would be appreciated!

Thanks!
