I've never been a fan of used vehicles, let alone one that has been modified (unless I knew the owner personally). My friends bought used cars, and each has had some type of issue, be it minor to major.
One thing to think about is warranty. Your FR-S still has its powertrain warranty. What are you going to do if you buy that older Maxima, and the next day the engine gives out?
If anything, I would spend a little more and find a V6 Camry.
