I try to stick to the old "do it right do it once" adage but sometimes have to go through two or three rights to get the correct once.
The only time I ever heard the old "do something even if it's wrong" and actually thought that makes sense was at the Navy damage control school. If you are in a ship taking water then any action is more likely to help more than hinder and doing nothing should never be an option.
