hard to say whose biting who these days. There are so many Variable Valve acronyms spread out amongst the Manufacturers.

Valvetronic, VVT, VVT-i, VVT-iE, VVEL, VTEC... and on and on. As a matter of fact something like five manufacturers use the acronym VVT: GM, Toyota, Sazuki, Volkswagen, (Vauxhall doesn't count because they're GM, and Renault doesn't count because Toyota does their VVT for them), Volve uses CVVT. And so on
