Being on Vancouver island... if you don't wanna have a bad time getting on and off the ferry, I suggest lowering no more than 1".

I'm on the Eibach pro kit, and I almost always scrape a bit on the ferry.

Personal preference, but you should try a 245 tire on 9" wide wheels. Just the tiniest amount of stretch look, but looks better IMO (and will be safer) than 215 stretched on that wide of a wheel.
