As publicized, exactly 250 of the 50th Anniversary Edition BRZ were produced and distributed across 37 states through the Subaru Retailer Network. Production began shortly after, in early February and lasted through the end of the month, with an outlier built in March. All 250 BRZ 50th Anniversary Editions were finished in an exclusive Heritage Blue exterior color.
For the 250 retailed BRZ 50th Anniversary Editions, the production number sequence follows the numerical order of the VINs. Each unit can be identified by the last 4-digits of its VIN. Each unit is assigned a production number ranging from 001-250, beginning at 001 / 250 with VIN0884 and ending at 250 / 250 with VIN1362.
