Not sure I'd call it appalling. It is out of warranty. To be fair, yea it would be nice to do something about it, but it is not different than any other product. Heck, my 86 started having condensation in the tail lights when it was less than 100 miles outside warranty and Toyota refused to address it.

Again, not unique to either company.
My primary work computer is a SurfaceBook 2. I'm pretty satisfied with it for that purpose, and would upgrade to a new Surface Book when the time came but I wouldn't purchase one for personal use. Then again, I've never owned a laptop for personal use.
