I'm pretty much in the same boat. I have a track set and a street set. For the first time in my life (I'm 42), I've intentionally chosen to prioritize comfort (noise and feel) in street tires with this car. I still have high performance summer tires, but nothing like RE71s. I don't measure the time it takes to go from home to the gym in hundreths of a second, so I'm OK giving up a little performance. Especially knowing I'll save money and be more comfortable at the same time, while still having a lot of fun.
Regardless, there's a lot of good info in this thread already. In short, I wouldn't bother with anything in the same class as the RE71s for the street.
