Hello 86ers!

Long time no see. My JRSC compressor died earlier this year. It had been on my car for several years, though it only covered ~18,000 miles in its short life.

It saw one track day and a couple of autocross events, in addition to its occasional street use. The compressor had begun making a demonic screeching noise earlier in the year. I checked the traction fluid levels several times during its run, including of course when the noise began. It never needed additional fluid except when the noise began, at which point I could only add about 2Tbsp of the fluid (following JR’s instructions for checking/adding). The noise became so bad that people nearby would always turn their heads to see what was making the terrible ruckus. I ended up having the kit pulled.

My mechanic said that he could feel that the impeller shaft (not sure if that’s the correct technical term) had cavitation(?). I don’t remember exactly how he described it, as it’s been several months and I’ve been super busy.

My question is - what should I do with the rest of the kit?

Is it worth selling a kit with a failed compressor?

I’m bummed that it died, it was fun - especially in AX.

Thanks for your input.
