zman: I'd definitely report it to whatever agency takes care of, correction, uses taxpayers' money NOT to take care of this road.
Though, it seems more like a permanent thing, not a pothole that just showed up recently. So they probably know about it and have a legal way not to pay for damaged cars, otherwise they'd have fixed it. Still, I'd call them asap, and you did good job documenting it.
