Not thick enough. More comfortable than stock. I used to have a sore right knee everytime I drove for over a half hour, now it doesn't bother me.

2. Is there significant amount of padding?

No. It is exactly the same amount of padding as the arm rest on the door. Not enough padding IMO.

3. Is it worth the money?

Ehhhh, not really - I would go with JPM if they are offering padded versions now. The JDM pieces are very expensive. They add a lot to the look of the interior though. Depends how much you think they are worth it to you.

4. Would you recommend it?

I like mine, and I tend to forget about how much I spent on things. It's a minor thing, but better than stock. OEM parts are expensive. Do yourself a favour and check out JPM first.
JPM are $136. I have them sitting in the shopping cart right now. Also, if you email them, they may be able to add some extra padding under the material. They are seriously awesome at what they do.

Edit: now that I think about it, may try to get some extra cushion under. That would be nice.
