People seem to think that new cars are all perfect but that is not reality. Manufacturing and assembly issues happen every single day. If they get caught in time they get fixed before they hit the dealers but sometimes some slip through. No matter how much automation is involved cars and their parts are still made by people and people screw up. As long as the manufacturer acknowledges the problems and take action to correct them we really can't complain.

BRZnut there's your explanation of the changes, it's still reliable and just a few 2018s they rest are still reliably chugging along. Hard to make large assumptions like that....
