Sure, if you don't use it. I have a very specific instrument scan pattern I use when driving, and check all instruments on a fairly regular basis. I suppose if I never looked at them that would make sense.

I think it is a better position for the non-critical instruments usually in that panel (radio, HVAC, map, etc) I have no issue. For your primary instruments though its a bad location IMO. That's OK, some cars have had their regular "steam" gauges in that location as well, and I wouldn't have bought them either.
