You take an ounce of Future floor polish (or whatever it is called now) add in a dollop of black acrylic artist paint and mix it up really well. Paint it on and lay the model flat so the self leveling properties of the Future draw the black into all the edges of the detail. If you want to make the model look weathered then just before the Future dries draw the brush across it a few times to break up the black. If not then just leave it alone and let it dry. Don't panic with how it loos wet. Once it dries then spray it with a flat or low gloss lacquer. Hit anything you want glossy (like the eyes) with some clear Future. You will end up with great detail highlights especially in all those places you used a marker and a weathered and aged looking finish on the flat surfaces.
