Just to nitpick, but that exactly how language evolution works. Maybe not "all of a sudden", but after enough time has passed and enough people use a word in a new way, that new way will become the "right way" and the old way will become the "wrong way".

When all the accepted authorities' and dictionaries change the definition I will accept it. At this point they have not.
Age alone still does not mean "classic" and trying to force it to is not the evolution of language it is personal opinion.
