Funny, I’ve thought this before that the styling evolution of the ZC6 into the ZD8 really reminds me of the 987 becoming the 981. Both cars retain the overall proportions of their predecessors, but they resolve most of the awkward details, like the transition of the rear window/hatch and the side intakes on the 987, and the fender bump/headlights, and fender vents on the ZC6, and the tail light integration with overall body lines on both.
