When second gen came out I like it so much I ended up buying it, even though initially I thought of buying something cheaper on the used market.

Yeah aesthetics is always personal. For years I had my heart on a 987.2 cayman, loved the look. But then the 981 came out and I just like it so much better. But these are personal decisions. Both cars are great fun.
