I'm not certain about that, but I will say weight does not equate to feel. For example, modern BMW's are known for having insanely heavy steering in sporty modes yet have no steering feel (I know, I've owned them haha). On the flipside, we have Miatas and FRS's that have comparatively light steering but much more feel. So the assist on the EPS, especially ones mounted on the column, not the rack, like the FRS, does not affect the feel much.
