If you haven't done it already, take a BRZ/86 for an extended test drive. Then go back and do it again a week later. I liked it the first time, but the second test drive was what sealed it. You might get the same 'yeah, this is it' confirmatory feeling I did (or you might decide it's not for you).

If you like it, go for it. Life is short. For most people, they get to a point in life where it's not fun anymore (or they're just not able) to climb down in and up out of a low, small sports car, and no longer fun to row your own gears. I hope for myself that day is still down the road, but I know it'll come. Enjoy it now.
Update: AnalogMan, I took your advice, test drove it a couple of times on different weekends, in different weather conditions. SOLD!

Used some of money I'd been saving for a "someday" cabin in the woods. But "someday" isn't guaranteed, and the BRZ opens up many opportunities (daily driving, autocross, maybe tracksprint) that are available now, not in some misty-maybe future.

Haven't stopped smiling since I brought it home. Thank you. Thrilled to be joining the group of oldsters, youngsters, and in-betweensters that also love driving their twins.
