All I can say is don't worry about what people think. The car is for you, not for them. When you start living just to impress others it's not going to go well.
I'm 36 and have been thinking of selling my f80 m3 for an 86. The car is fast as hell but very boring at legal speeds. The manual isn't that great. Sound is terrible. Tons of lag.
