I'll never forget 2011 Monaco; Vettel in the lead with >50 lap tires, Alonso in second with fresher tires by about 20 laps and Button behind with even fresher tires, they were nose to tail through the tunnel with less than 10 laps to go.
Petrov crashed, brought out the red flag, everyone got fresh tires and it was a parade to the finish.
F1 could take a lesson or two from NASCAR, if they had called an audible and forced no tire change 2011 Monaco would have gone down in the history books as one of the most epic races of this era, no matter who won.
