From someone who owned both the PS3 and the Xbox 360, the Xbox 360 controller is the most uncomfortable controller I've ever used... If you're a competitive gamer/multiplayer, go X1. If you're just buying games to play campaign mode and watch bluray movies, go PS4.
OR
Just buy the console that all of your friends have.
BTW
If you're buying a PS4 you now have a monthly subscription fee for online use. Please do not say you quit Xbox just because of the $5 a month haha
