So I took the plunge to see how 235/40-18's would look.....

I am torn. On one hand there is something retro about the "bubbly" sidewall. On the other hand these tires have MASSIVE amounts of grip. Tread wear rating of 60 and STIFF sidewalls. A quick shake down on my favorite back road made me wish I had worn some depends as the limits are WAY too high for the street compared to Michelin Pilot SuperSport but YES it should be as its an R comp tire.

This tire actually measures 244mm wide and yet its a 235 section designation. The common game tire manufactures play these days.

This is the very rare and hard to get Pirelli Trofeo -R. It replaces the Trofeo which was a 80 tread wear R comp. This one is a 60.

When the 245/35-18 comes out I will get it but for now I will use this as a track tire.

The darker wheels I do like compared to the silver CH-R's I have.

Enkei RPF-1's are due in soon in GUN METAL and + 35 offset. So plenty of weight savings is right around the corner ! For now..I have the retro 70's 240Z look !

Thoughts?
