I was looking for this thread a while back. When I finally got my brz limited auto a few weeks back. I wanted to post my story of how I got my brz. I am a software developer and when I started to look into buying it I found it hard to find any in stock or any non-markup.
So I made a program that scraped all Subaru dealers in Cali and showed me their inventory. Once I found my car in oddly nearby I called the dealer and bought it that day at msrp this was after they told me there was a 5k markup. I paid about 33k otd after taxes, registration and I think financing.

BRZ Scraper I can add more subaru dealers if anyone wants to monitor one near them, note this wont work with fr-s because all Subaru dealers use the same layout and Toyota does not. You will need a gmail account to sign-in and please don't abuse the site it's not super secure but it's hosted for free and has a limit where it will go down after enough usage on a daily basis.
