Our sister company GTWORX started working with BILSTEIN USA back in early 2009 to develop a oem fitment option for the 08+ WRX which had ZERO shock options. So this isnt a "new" thing for GTWORX to co-brand with BILSTEIN on the fixed perch style strut/shock option.
So yes we establish the type of valving we want and for what range of spring rates and the drop. We work directly with the engineers at Bilstein west to find the best profile for our needs. This is done over a period of 2 weeks on Socal roads. We then take a sample set back to the east coast and put roughly 2-3000 east coast , horrible road miles on the prototypes. Its then signed off on and approved for production. Prior to that we normally try about 20 different valvings.
Hope that help understand the process.
Keep in mind that option from GTWORX is 6 months out at a minimum.

As long as I know it's in the pipeline, I'm happy to wait. My Yellow's and stockers are doing great for now.
