Improving the car year over year is one thing, releasing fancy models every year that are different from the prior years fancy model just doesn't make sense to me.

It's like they're trying to develop an Apple-like cult of 'line up around the store to be the first on your block to get the new iThing even though the one you have is still perfectly good'. Or something. They don't want them to wait, they want them to trade into the dealer ($$$ for the dealer) and buy a new one every year ($ for the dealer and $ for the manufacturer).
Problem is maybe Scion forgot that their car is a teensy wee bit more money than a new iPad.
