OK, so about a month ago, I was convinced that a Schroth with ASM was the way to go. Then I did research and posted about it. Then I was schooled.

Saw some photos from crashes. NOT GOOD! Harness bars are not roll cage bars. They can move A LOT in a crash. If a harness bar moves forward a foot, your belts slip over and god knows where you're going to end up, but probably submarined or out the window. Definitely in pieces. Anchoring to the child seat tether won't work since you weigh far more than those anchors are designed for. Anchoring to the seatbelt anchor won't work because the angle is wrong.

So like a couple others said: Go big or go home. Either use the stock safety system completely or put in a 5/6 six point seat, belt, and cage. I'm not even sure if a half-cage is a good idea at this point. If you really want a wholehog track car, I'd buy a Formula something or other. It'll be faster more fun, uncompromised, and allow real racing. It might even be cheaper in the long run.

And of course, if you put in a full cage, you'll need a helmet on the street.
