I highly doubt it but if it did, it will only be half cage like the US spec 911 RS series cars unlike their international counter parts which have full cages. Something about the rule book here makes it very hard (or impossible?) for manufactures to sell street legal cars with full roll cages. Again, I just don't see it happening on a car of this caliber but who knows?
I'm with you though, it's bitter sweet news. On the tC the r spec package was great as it did away with the glass roof but all other changes were negligible.
Looking at the Boss 302 and arguably the Genesis Coupe R spec for inspiration (what other car under $45k has a track version?) on what could possibly be done. I don't think the a/c will be removed, I doubt the audio will be removed completely, either. Rear seats are a possibility, as well as less speakers. Bigger brakes, front brake cooling ducts, tweaks in aero with a front splitter and functional rear spoiler/diffuser, oil cooler, unique temp. and pressure gauges, and a reworked suspension with some additional bracing and wheel/tire combo. Any combination of the above..
Or it could just be a no options car offered in 3 of the most abundant colors with corner cutting to save costs (i.e. leave some parts unpainted, take out cruise control, steelies with hubcaps, no options/accessories).

Who knows.
