Perhaps I should have phrased it differently. It will still use the same platform but won't share any body panels with the Impreza. Nor will it any longer be called the Impreza WRX, just WRX.
If it was really just going to be a "beefed up" Impreza it would already be out. The current gen Impreza has been out almost 2 years; Subaru pushing the current WRX with it's outdated interior and crapbox 5 speed manual is doing nobody any favors.
