The problem is, we're all relying on forums. Even relying on a website isn't going to help you... I work in ecommerce (Newegg) and people would go apeshit if they knew all the errors for computer components being listed...

Fitment guides don't tell the enthusiast a thing.

I don't rely on forums for detailed information, and most of my wheel/tire/suspension knowledge was me installing 20+ different combinations of wheels on my own car before settling for what I wanted.

With the internet, there's just too many "living vicariously through others" and not enough interest in going out there and experimenting on your own. The aftermarket wheel industry will eventually catch up to FRS/BRZ owners... as long as there is interest. It's still very much a business, and those that plan well (design/production/marketing/sales/execution/warranty/etc/etc) will see a good response from end users.
