I know our BRZ is selling at almost half a million more than the 86.

I am asking as people who see me drive it always ask me this. I always say the suspension setup is different. There are aesthetic differences as well.

Yesterday while parking at a supermarket to buy groceries a young woman approached me and handed me a flyer offering me custom vehicle registration plates that follows the format and style of the EU plates. Difference being the left part sports the Philippine flag while the right side sports the logo of your car brand.

I feel really dumb for not closing my car door and locking it when this happened. For all I know she could have been part of a carnapping gang.
Be careful bro, especially if the girl is very pretty

The differences between the BRZ and 86 in the Philippines are:

1. Front fascia. Bumper, fog lights, headlights.
2. Interior:
a. Dash panel of BRZ is silver while 86 wrapped in carbon fiber like vinyl.
b. Heated seats in BRZ (useless) non in 86.
c. Seat material: leather + alcantara insert (BRZ), cloth material (86)
d. Instrument panel: Different fonts. BRZ all black background, 86 white background on tachometer. Background lighting red in BRZ, whitish in 86.
3. Suspension setup:
86 - has softer front springs. Over steer biased.
BRZ - has stiffer springs. Under steer biased.
4. Fender side vents - 86 has a flat vent with an 86 boxer piston logo, BRZ has an Aston Martin like vent.

Is the difference in pricing of 278,000K between the AT variant and 378,000 for the MT justifiable to get the BRZ over the 86 if the cars were the only consideration? No. The biggest reason why I got the BRZ over the 86 is that during the time I wanted a car, Toyota would not take my money. They wanted financing only and not cash payment. Motorimage had no such problem. If I financed the car at Toyota, I would have paid more than the cash price of the BRZ so this was how I justified to myself paying a premium for the BRZ over the 86. I also like the customer experience much better at Motorimage than at Toyota.
