For Scandinavian conditions, and the cars most people drive here, the Toybaru is below average on the following conditions:
Ice/packed snow: Suspension too hard, and the AT shifts too hard even in "snow" mode, AT must be manually locked in gear to avoid accidents around corners and up/down hills.
Loose snow/slush: Too low ride heigt, even at stock, floats and loses traction.
Conclusion: The Toybaru is not unusable in winter, but compared to most new Subarus and Toyotas sold here it is not a good winter car.
I will nonetheless enjoy driving my GT86 through the winter, and I will be constanly looking for empty, iced parking lots...
