Tune/Cancel the code out is the solution to the P0420. I'm assuming you've tried to clear it, and it came back?

Do you mean undertray when you say heat shield? This is the first we've heard of this as we have several other units out without issue. Potential fix, take the tray off and touch it lightly with a hammer to make for a little more room.
