Most Mustang owners are not that way BUT the ones that are,are the ones you notice and they reflect badly on the rest of us. Yes I own one too, a 2011 Shelby GT500 and I own an FR-S. I love both cars for what they are and each has its own character; I wouldn't give up either one. I, like many other posters, like many different types of cars and I am fortunate enough to have been able to afford many of my dream cars from my first 1974 Subaru Coupe(loved that car although it had no power!), 75 280Z, some Toyotas and Datsuns, anda bunch of Camaros, Trans Ams, Mustangs and Corvettes.

In fact I traded a 2007 Corvette Convertible for my FR-S.The Corvette out performed it in every way but truth be told, the FR-S was way more fun on the street. To get the most out of the Corvette you have to drive it hard which is not feasible on the street (mostly J). Otherwise it was too tame. The FR-S is a joy to drive all the time. Same goes for the Shelby.

I don’t street race or behave like the OP mentions but I do like to throw the Shelby into a curve and take off from time to time. Surprise, surprise; yes it handles very well and will pull 1G, better than the FR-S although you can definately feel the weight difference. But I never pull up to any car and race anyone. I do pull up and smile and gives thumbs up to drivers of other cool cars I see no matter what the make, of course I give special recognition to BRZ/FR-S owners. After all that crowd has a lot of taste and common sense…at least most of us do J
