You guys do know autos have a park gear right? If your really stuck in traffic for such a long period of time that holding the break pedal down becomes a nuisance just put it on park, the great thing about the park gear is if you won't roll if the road isn't flat. Plus autos can do all that switching from first to neutral without using a clutch.
If you need to do all that shifting to keep yourself from being bored out of your mind then fine, I can see how manual is good for that. But if you don't like shifting all the time then being stuck in traffic will bother you.
