Porsche's options are price inflated. But what you get for the models, without options, are worth it. $60k for a Cayman S is not overpriced. It's not cheap, and I can't afford it, but when I got out of the car after test driving it (and driving it hard, mind you) it was a feeling of admiration and awe.
I would imagine that a big reason that there are a lot of Porsche fans on here (myself included) is because enthusiasts for this car have a lot in common with your average Porsche fan:
-lightweight
-superb handling
-track-ability
Only thing the BRZ/FRS is missing is horsepower
