OP:

As others have said, the two cars are completely different (impractical vs practical, RWD vs FWD). Personally, I dislike the styling of the '10 MS3. I would look for a used one, of which there are plenty with low miles. Torque steer really isn't that bad unless you're the type that doesn't hold onto the steering wheel with any conviction at WOT in 1st or 2nd. Boost is limited based on steering angle in 1st and 2nd gear, but you get full boost (15.6psi) from 3rd on. Also beware that the MS3 does not get that great of gas mileage, but has plenty of cargo room.

Also, test drive an MS3. The clutch is...different, and may take some getting used to. You really won't know if the car is for you until you test drive it and decide whether you really want that much power in a FWD car. You can always get a regular 3, which gets better gas mileage and has all of the same practicality. You'll even save some money...maybe enough to afford the FT-86 as a second car in a few years!
