You know how Majority Share Holder works right?
Not about how much you own of the total, but its how much you own in comparison to other owners.
And rumours afloat before GFC that Toyota was to over take Commercial vehicle manufacturing (Subaru) from FHI altogether... but plans changed... and of course Japan laws are in the way... but Japan Laws can favor in ruling of Toyota if they judge that its best for their industry...
With VW acquiring new companies, I would not be surprise in the near future Toyota completely over takes Subaru... same with other OEMs, mergers would occur also. This is for financial purposes obviously.
