That said, I tend to make these types of issues a "mission". I'd do it a 100 times if necessary while the car was under warranty before resulting to a quick fix. Once it was outside warranty, then I would probably drill a relief hole.

I thought replaced parts get a new warranty? Like a new taillight should get a new 3 year 36,000 warranty from the date and mileage of replacement? If not, how does it work?
