Clutch in. Rev up/put in 3rd. Release clutch and go likes downshift. I dont feel good when do this. When downshift. I only need to rev 6-700rpm over certain rpm. Bring the rev from idle to 2k-2k500 is kinda hard to me.
Clutch in. Put ib 3rd. Slowly release clutch/add gas just likes you go from 1-2-3-4. I fell better when doing this way.
Just asking of there's another way.

Free revving the engine to a moderate RPM (like 2.5-3K) is pretty light work for the car.
In the 2nd way you describe you are making the driveline do more of the work than just the engine in scenario 1 to match speeds. IMO your better off getting the engine where it needs to be, then engaging the proper gear.
Also, I don't take my car out of gear when coming up to a light until it's about to bog so if the light does turn green I can just go.
