I personally prefer Patterson Pass, a lot twistier but much narrower, actually pretty similar to the narrow section of Mines. If you do get a chance, try it at night. The view of the Livermore (or Tracy/Valley) lights coming down the hill is awesome, but please be careful: dark, hard to see corners, deer, etc.

This was actually the loop we were planning on doing back in one of the morning drives, but the fog and the size of the group made it pretty iffy for driving Patterson Pass. Tesla probably would have been ok, but then you miss all the views from the fog.

Mines was kinda short since we didn't really do the whole run. I've killed plenty of Sunday mornings doing the whole Livermore to San Jose route.
