Those are facts, now what you say is absolutely true, IF everything lives in harmony then the engine could last just as long as if it never gets a turbo. At this point that is a MASSIVE "if", we don't know how much stress this engine was designed to put up with, we simply don't have the numbers to say "slap a turbo on! nothing bad will happen! you can reliably do extensive modifications and not worry about missing work cause something screwed up because this is the OP's primary car!"

Can cars be modified extensively with no ill effects?
Absolutely.
