Haven't got the equipment for scanning for the FM interference yet, so I'll post back at that point.
I signed up at HIDplanet but haven't posted yet. I'll do that once I've figured out what the problem is and whether I can fix it or not.

Sounds like the flicker is related to a bad ground or voltage drop at idle.
