Please realize that a base GTI can be had for less than $25k and has the exact same HP/Torque as a fully loaded GTI. For around $500 you can have the ECU modded to get 230+ HP and 260+ lb-ft of torque. Granted, the GTI will always be "wrong wheel" drive, but that's still quite a bargain.

All of that said, the GTI fanboy in the MotorTrend video is a complete tool.
Have they sorted out the carbon build up on the valves with those engines? I'd hate to have to have that cleaned every 30k miles.
