They consume about half a quart every 2,500 miles, which is the time you need to change them.

My 2004 lasted me 167,305 miles on original factory engine; and it didn't fail, it lost compression. Besides, the engines are about 500 lbs, you can stow that in the middle where the drive shaft runs and still able to fit two more adults in the rear seats
