It's an issue. Especially when the seats don't have memory. Fold it forward, strap my son, and slide and recline the seat all over again. My daughter is old enough to help herself so she climbs in to the passenger side. Putting her behind me wouldn't make sense, I would have to climb in even further to attend to my son. Our garage has another car and cabinets line the passenger wall. PITA. So, we use the third car, an SUV, when they are passengers.
