Edit: One thing that's always kept me close to Honda is simply the character of their motors, each one is unique. When I traded in my '06 RSX-S, I loved my STi, but the motor was so boring. Boost is fun, but the motor just has no character.
Well maybe it's just because I don't like the fact that it's not a purpose-built chassis. That's why I always felt a little disappointed with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions too. Despite being drastically different in performance, you could still tell it was based on a basic sedan chassis.

Sure, I'll believe your new Civic Si is better than your old RSX - that's natural progression. But if they had kept the two lines separate, the RSX would still be better. And I agree that North America always got screwed in not getting a lot of the performance options/models which makes it an unfair comparison for us.

But anyway, I will never buy a FWD car again. I like to drive sportily and the dynamics of FWD always get in the way and give me a bad feeling when pushing the car hard. I want to feel a push and rotation of the rear and have a more progressive loss of grip. But don't get me wrong, FWD cars are just fine and good for most drivers.

Although Honda clearly makes advanced engines, the few that I drove didn't impress me all that much. The S2000 engine had no torque down low and the two stage VTEC engines felt like massive turbo lag. Plus, the newer non-Si Civic I drove felt really bland and underpowered with the annoying delayed rev drop. But I still have respect for Honda and believe they have enormous potential.
