What irritates me about Honda is that they get involved in motorsports making these great engines and prototype cars like in Super GT but refuse to actually make sports cars for the road anymore. So on that basis, I refuse to buy a Honda.
The Si is very much so in the same category, without question. In fact, the Si, in my opinion, is as close as we've been to a real Type R in the states for quite some time.

The DC series of Integras (RSXs) never received an LSD, in the states, and yet the Si did. The '06 Si was aimed to replace the RSX line altogether to give Acura a more "premium" model line up.

I previously owned an '06 RSX-S and loved it, but my Si trumps it in both chassis and power potential.

With regards to FWD versus RWD, I think they're both fun in their respective manners, it's really understeer or oversteer at the end of the day right?

I've owned fwd, rwd and awd vehicles - they're all fun.

Edit: One thing that's always kept me close to Honda is simply the character of their motors, each one is unique. When I traded in my '06 RSX-S, I loved my STi, but the motor was so boring. Boost is fun, but the motor just has no character.
