The new WRX will not be based off the impreza. They stated that many times.
Before they unveiled the concept at the NYAS, the test mule in the wild looked just like this basically. I wouldn't really go off of this.
Then again, it wouldn't surprise me to see similarities in the production version.
Damnit, I hate speculating.
