Does anyone have a lot of track time on the Pentosin? I am an ex-vintage car racer, so I'm used to having to double clutch a cold transmission to get it to shift smoothly until warm, but one thing I learned about tranny oils is that you should pick your oil for how it works fully hot and fully loaded. The trans case is aluminum, while the shafts and bearings are steel which means they expand at different rates and different total degrees. If your input shaft and drive gear shaft spread a few thousandths of an inch at 200 degrees (because the aluminum case expanded) while the oils viscosity has thinned by half, the conical synchro ring will engage at a different point of the shift throw. With stock oil you can slow the speed of your shift selector when cold to accommodate for this.

IMO, if you are driving your car from cold for 20-30 minutes to work/school the Pentosin sounds like it is actually better for the transmission. If you track the car in a warm climate and you are NOT double clutching and match-revving your downshifts perfectly every time (who can do this?) I would be very careful to choose an oil that isn't so thin or slick at temp, that it bypasses the synchro. An synchro break at a 7000rpm downshift puts "gravel" in the gearbox that can split the case, break teeth or give you 6 neutral gears.

To summarize, I am not saying anything against any of the oils or advice given on this thread. I am asking you to think about your application, driving style/skill, and take responsibility for good decisions on the information you have gathered.
